January 2021 - Dr Mark Hall joins the Manx Heart Foundation

We are delighted to welcome Dr Mark Hall to the Board of Trustees of Manx Heart Foundation.

Dr Mark Hall, MD, FRCP, Consultant Cardiologist/Electrophysiologist, Liverpool Heart

and Chest Hospital and Nobles Hospital


Mark is a consultant cardiologist specialising in heart rhythm disorders (cardiac electrophysiology, EP) and implantable cardiac devices (pacemakers and defibrillators). He trained in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology in Newcastle and Manchester before taking up his consultant post in 2007. He was clinical lead for EP and devices at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital (LHCH) before taking up a joint role between LHCH and Nobles Hospital. He holds an honorary appointment at Alderhey Children’s Hospital.


As well as general cardiology, his clinical and research interests include heart rhythm issues (arrhythmias) in adults and children, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, pacemakers and defibrillators, and ablation for atrial and ventricular arrhythmias. He runs UK and Europe-wide pacing, defibrillator and cardiac electrophysiology courses and has taught doctors in India and South Africa. He was heart rhythm lead for the Healthy Liverpool and the sustainability and transformation projects for Cheshire and Merseyside associate CCIO for LHCH and an advisor to NICE.


Mark is an enthusiastic but not particularly talented golfer.
