Manx Heart Foundation Annual Golf Tournament 2022

Our original event scheduled for 30th September had to be postponed due to extreme weather warnings. Happily, the 4th November date had neither hostile wind or rain and indeed we were blessed with perfect golfing conditions.

Twelve teams battled their way through the afternoon. The ultimate victors were the team from Simcocks, who were closely followed by the CKM Team. A Viking League team took third place. The format was 2 from 4 with 90% of handicap.

Despite the continuing wet weather, the greens keepers provided an excellent course on which to play. Our thanks go to them and of course to the Club Professional Lewis Dening and his assistant Ciarran Gell for their great support on the day setting up the course with all our sponsors’ banners and flags.

We would like to extend our thanks to all our sponsors for making the event possible. We were fortunate to have sponsors for all the par 3 holes. The sponsors for the nearest the pin competitions were IQEQ, Hansard, Capital International and the Mylchreests Group. The other hole sponsors were Appleby, IFGL, Simcocks, Canaccord, KPMG and PWC.

Tower Insurance generously sponsored the 1st ,2nd and 3rd prizes and the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company donated a travel voucher which was auctioned at the prize giving and raised £250. RL360, Fairway restaurant and Microgaming donated prizes for the raffle which raised £380.

Finally, we would like to extend our thanks to Alex and her team at the Fairway for an excellent warming two course dinner and providing a fitting climax to the day alongside the prize giving. The event raised a total of £3000 to contribute to our future project of supporting the introduction of cardiac specialist nurses in the community in association with Manx Care.
