Join us at one of our events!
For years MHF has been running a bridge tournament across the island from October through to April. Each week players are hosted at homes throughout the island for a fun afternoon of lunch and bridge. If you are a bridge player of any calibre, send us an email and we'll make sure to include you at the start of the season.
Manx Heart Foundation Golf Tournament 4th October 2019
There was a dramatic change in the weather which had earlier in the week devastated several homes in Laxey, some twelve miles away as the crow flies!
16 teams teed off wearing fleeces and waterproofs but as the photos will show by the middle of the afternoon we were basking in sun and in shirt sleeve order.
The weather held out and spirits were high as all the teams wended their way back to the Clubhouse for one of Peel’s epic two course dinners.
We would like to acknowledge the great support of the sponsors who made the day possible they were:
IQEQ sponsoring the first prize won by the Estera team of Seb Crookall-Nixon, Mike Crookall, Mark Walton and Adam Caddick with 87 points
Second prize to the Lloyds Bank team of Rob McIver, Michael Kelly, Chris Clinton and Andrew Ronan with 81 points.
Third prize to Coutts Crown Dependencies Team of James Leith, Roger Ratgever, Juan Quayle and Daryl Callister with 0 points on countback.
RL360 sponsoring the longest drive was won by Neil Cain in the Apex Team.
Equinox sponsored the nearest the pin on the 10th which was won by Roger Ratgever in the Coutts team.
Appleby sponsored the nearest the pin on the 17th and that was won by Doug Skinner from the Peel Golf Club team.
The remaining hole sponsors were Mylchreests Group, PWC, Estera, Brown Craine, Apex, Cowley Groves and Tower Insurance.
The remaining prize sponsor was the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.
We could not close without acknowledging the help of all of the team at the Peel Golf Club who as always do such a magnificent job in the Clubhouse, the Kitchens and of course on the Course not to mention the Pro Shop!
Watch this space! We are working on a new project of sponsored coffee mornings! A great way to get the word out...!
